The Princeton men's tennis team will begin its 2014 dual-match season Thursday and Saturday with a pair of matches in Virginia, first against William & Mary and then against Old Dominion.

Though the Tigers have faced both teams before, none of those meetings have occurred with any of the current players. Princeton is 1-5 all-time against William & Mary, last meeting in 2002, and 2-1 all-time against Old Dominion, last meeting in 2009.

Princeton is ranked 55th on the latest ITA list, released Wednesday. Neither William & Mary nor Old Dominion are in the 125-team rankings, but both have match experience on the Tigers, who scrimmaged Penn last weekend. William & Mary kicked off their schedule on Jan. 14 with a pair of wins over Norfolk State and Campbell before embarking on a major-conference road trip that included trips to Notre Dame, Northwestern, Penn State and St. John's, all defeats. Old Dominion began on Jan. 19 and is 4-0, winning home matches against Howard, Richmond, Norfolk State and Morgan State. Richmond gave ODU its closest match, with the Monarchs winning 5-2.

Princeton will have to replace half its doubles lineup and four of its six singles players from last season, as only Zack McCourt, Dan Davies, Augie Bloom and Jonathan Carcione return from among those who played in Princeton's last dual match, which was on April 21, 2013 against Columbia. Princeton added a freshman class of three to comprise its roster of 11 and replace a freshman class that was headed by three-time Ivy League Player of the Year Matija Pecotic.

Princeton is scheduled to have 18 dual matches before opening Ivy League play at Penn on March 29.
