PRINCETON, N.J. (1/14/14) - Freshman goaltender Colton Phinney has been named the ECAC Rookie of the Weke for the week ending Jan. 12. He was named the GoPrincetonTigers Athlete of the Week yesterday.

Phinney made a career-high 45 saves and allowed two goals on Saturday against No. 4 Union. Phinney's save total is the most by a Princeton netminder since Mike Condon made 57 saves on Feb. 17, 2012, coincidently in a 3-0 loss to Union. During a five-minute major to a teammate Phinney made nine saves including 1:35 of 5x3 action after a second infraction to the Tigers. He made another big stop in the final two minutes of the second on a Ciampini breakaway.

Phinney had a 1.53 GAA against a team that averages more than double that (3.70) and a .963 save percentage.

The Tigers return to action on Jan. 31 & 1 when they travel to Harvard & Dartmouth.
