After being named to the Cavalier Classic All-Tournament Team Princeton women’s basketball junior Blake Dietrick picked up her second Ivy League Player of the Week nod of the season and her career, it was announced Monday by the league.

Dietrick has been the Tigers’ offensive leader all year and the weekend tournament was no different. She averaged 18 points, four rebounds and 1.5 steals over the two-game outing. Of her 36 combined points, 24 came from beyond the arc.

In the opening game versus Alabama on Dec. 28, she scored 17 points, second-best on the team, added three triples, dished a season-high six assists, made three boards and added two steals in an impressive 37 minute performance.

Her work was instrumental in Princeton rolling past the Crimson Tide for a 79-59 victory, marking the first-ever win versus an SEC opponent in program history. Interestingly enough, it was only the second win versus an SEC team in Ivy League history and first since 1988.

In the championship game versus host Virginia the next day, Dietrick paced the Tigers with a team-high 19 points, second-best in the game. She was 5-of-11 from three-point and added four rebounds, two assists and a steal over 35 minutes of action.

The point guard has scored in double figures in the last five games, tallying 10 points or more in all but three games in her first full season as a starter. She is averaging a team-best 15.2 points per game with 37 of her field goals coming from downtown.

Dietrick and the Tigers (8-5) close out the preseason at Drexel on Sunday, Jan. 4 at 2 p.m.
