PRINCETON, N.J. (11/27/13) - The Princeton women's hockey team faces off with No. 1 Minnesota in a pair of games at Ridder Arena this weekend.

EYE ON THE TIGERS
Princeton is coming off of a 1-1 tie with No. 8 Quinnipiac in a mid-week game at Hobey Baker Rink on Tuesday night. It marked the team's second tie with a top-10 team this year. The Tigers are 5-4-2 overall and are looking to rebound from last week's tough two losses to No. 8 Clarkson and St. Lawrence. Princeton was receiving votes in last week's national poll after a 5-2 start.

Senior defender Rose Alleva sits atop the scoring column with nine points on five goals and four assists. Senior Olivia Mucha has also scored a team-high five goals and adds two goals for seven points. Senior Sally Butler sits in between with eight points on one goal and a team-best seven helpers. Sophomore Jaimie McDonell, freshman Cassidy Tucker and seniors Denna Laing and Gabie Figueroa all have seven points apiece. Sophomore Kimberly Newell has started in 10 of 11 games and has a .903 save percentage and 3.05 goals against average.

PRINCETON/MINNESOTA SERIES
Minnesota is riding a five-game unbeaten streak in the series. The last meeting was in the NCAA quarterfinals of the 2005-06 season, as the Gophers claimed a 4-0 win to go on to finish as the national runner-up. Princeton's win in the series was in the first meeting in 1995, an 8-1 win at Ridder Arena during the All-American Tournament.

SCOUTING THE GOPHERS
Minnesota is the No. 1 team in the country with a 15-1 overall record. The team most recently swept Yale in a two-game series in New Haven. The Gophers have not lost a non-conference game since playing Boston College in the NCAA Regional on March 12, 2011. The defending NCAA national champion, who finished last season with a perfect 41-0 record, dropped a 3-2 game at home to North Dakota in its only blemish of the current season. The Gophers average 4.31 goals per game (2nd in the nation) and allow 1.38 gpg (5th). The power play ranks third at 30% (18/60) and the penalty kill is fourth at 90.6% (48/53).

Sophomore Hannah Brandt is the Gopher's leading scorer with 24 points on seven goals and a team-high 17 assists. Junior Rachael Bona has 23 point son eight goals and 15 assists, while senior Sarah Davis has eight tallies and 12 helpers for 20 points. Senior Kelly Terry has a team-high 10 goals and chips in nine assists. Three others are in double figures in scoring. Sophomore Amanda Levielle has started in goal in all 16 games. She has a .942 save percentage and a 1.39 GAA.
