WEEK 7 HIGHLIGHTS l TIGERBLOG ON EPPERLY

Junior Quinn Epperly, who broke an NCAA Division I record with 29 straight completions Saturday in a 53-20 victory over Cornell, was named the Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week for the fourth time this season, including each of the last three weeks.

Epperly, who has earned the honor after all four of Princeton's Ivy League games this season, shared the award with Brown's John Spooney, who rushed for two touchdowns of more than 90 yards in the 27-0 win over Penn.

Epperly is just the sixth player in Ivy League history to win a football weekly award three weeks in a row. It has happened seven times with Brown's Nick Hartigan as the only player to do it twice. Hartigan was the last offensive player to achieve the feat, which happened twice in 2005 (Oct. 3, 10 & 17 and Oct. 31, Nov. 7 & Nov. 14). The only other offensive player to do it was Cornell's Chad Levitt in 1996 (Oct. 13, 20 & 27).

"We are very excited for Quinn to receive this honor," head coach Bob Surace said. "He was terrific last weekend, and he continues to make good decisions and winning plays for our team."

Epperly completed his first 29 passes of the game, including two touchdown passes to Roman Wilson and one to Seth DeValve. His 29th completion, an eight-yard pass to DeValve, moved Epperly past Richie Williams of Appalachian State, who had 28 straight completions on Oct. 9, 2004.

He also ran for three touchdowns and helped Princeton to sole possession of first place in the league. The Tigers (6-1, 4-0 Ivy) will take on reigning Ivy champion Penn (4-3, 3-1 Ivy), which shares second place with Harvard.

Epperly continues to have one of the best seasons in Princeton football history, and he has moved himself into the Top 5 in several national categories. Among the highlights of his season:

(All rankings based on FCS this week)
• Ranks first nationally in points responsible for per game (28.0)
• Ranks second nationally in completion percentage (74.9%)
• Ranks second nationally in passing efficiency (179.6)
• Ranks third nationally in scoring per game (12.0) -- that total is for his 14 rushing TDs only
• Is the only player in all of FCS with 12 or more rushing and 12 or more passing touchdowns this season
• Matched an Ivy League record with six passing touchdowns to end Harvard's 15-game home win streak in a 51-48 3 OT win over the weekend
• Has been responsible for six touchdowns in three games this season, all Ivy League wins
• Has 18 passing touchdowns and only one interception on the season
• Has led Princeton to six straight wins and a share of the top spot in the Ivy League standings
• Ranks eighth nationally in rushing TDs and 20th in passing TDs
