PRINCETON, N.J. (10/7/13) - Coming off of its Ivy League season opening win over Dartmouth, the Princeton men's soccer team returns home to host Drexel on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 7 p.m.

The series is tied at 2-2-1 with the last meeting being nearly a decade ago, in 2005. Princeton won that game 2-0 and is riding a two-game win streak in the series. The teams have played three common opponents: FDU, Seton Hall, Rutgers. Drexel is 1-1-1 in those games (loss to FDU, tie with Seton Hall, win over Rutgers 2-0); while Princeton is 1-2 (loss to FDU and Rutgers, win over Seton Hall).

Princeton enters the mid-week non-conference game with a 3-5 overall record and is 2-1 when playing on Myslik Field at Roberts Stadium. The Tigers have been stronger in their second half, with twice the number of goals (4-8) and more than double the number of shots (27-63). Sophomore Thomas Sanner, the 2012 Ivy League Rookie of the Year, and junior Cameron Porter, the two-time reigning Ivy League Player of the Week, lead the team in scoring. Sanner has five goals and one assist for 11 points, while Porter has scored four goals and two assists for 10 points. Sophomore Nico Hurtado has collected five points on two goals and one helper. Seven other players have one or more points. Senior Seth MacMillan been in goal every minute this season and has a 1.87 goals against average and a .531 save percentage.

Drexel is 5-4-1 and has lost its last two games after winning five straight. Most recently the team lost 2-0 to Temple at home after a one-goal loss to Penn on Oct. 2. The Dragons average 1.50 goals per game on an average of 16.9 shots per game. They like to score later with 10 of their 15 goals coming in the second half. Drexel has also nearly doubled its opponents in corner kicks, 57-29. Nathan Page and Ken Tribbett are the team's leading scorers. Page has nine goals on three goals and three helpers, while Tribbett has tallied four goals. John Grosh, Mark Donohue and Maty Brennan have scored twice each. Tyler Afflerbach has started in goal in the last seven games and is 5-2. He has a 1.00 GAA and a .759 save percentage allowing seven on 29 shots. Pentti Pussinen started the first three games of the season and went 0-2-1 with a 1.86 GAA and a .571 save percentage.
