PRINCETON, N.J. (10/3/13) - The Princeton women's hockey season will play an exhibition game against McGill University, this Sunday, Oct. 6 at Hobey Baker Rink. Game time is at 1 p.m.

The game will be webstreamed on the Ivy League Digitial Network and live stats will also be available. You can also get Twitter updates at @PUTigers

The Tigers will have to replace 41 percent of its scoring offense from last season with the loss of their top two scorers Corey Stearns and Kelly Cooke to graduation, as well as Alex Kinney who had 11 points. The returning leading scorer is senior Sally Butler who had 15 points last year. Butler led the team in scoring during her sophomore year collecting 26 points. Senior Denna Laing should also fill the role as she was second on the team in points in 2011-12. Other players looking to step up on offense are junior Brianna Leahy and senior Olivia Mucha. The Tigers return its entire defensive lineup. There will be senior leadership from Rose Alleva and Gabie Figueroa and junior Ali Pankowski and Brianne Mahoney to add spark. After having an entire year together last year they should be more cohesive. Sophomore Kimberly Newell will anchor the defense again this season. She is coming off of another summer with the Canadian Hockey program, playing with both the U-18 and the National Team. Last year she finished the season with a .915 save percentage and a 2.90 goals against average. The squad brings in a freshmen class they are tremendously excited about, including Kelsey Koelser, Hilary Lloyd, Audrey Potts, Morgan Sly, Molly Strabley and Cassidy Tucker. Fiona McKenna won't join the team until after her varsity soccer season is complete.

McGill returns to the States for the second time this season. The squad visited New England last weekend, falling 5-3 to Providence and 1-0 to Northeastern. The Martlets will play at Yale on Saturday night. Through four games Leslie Oles and Chelsey Saunders are the team's leading scorers. They each have two goals and two assists. Katia Clement-Heydra has scored three goals, while Logan Murray and Stefanie Pohlod have a goal and two assists apiece. McGill has tested three netminders with Andrea Weckman seeing the most playing time. She has an .810 save percentage and a 4.03 GAA in 119 minutes. Taylor Hough has played 87 minutes and has made 32 saves on 33 shots. Brittany Smrke has seen 31 minutes and stopped 16 of 17 shots.

This is the fifth meeting between the two teams with Princeton 3-1 in the series. The Marlets won the last game, 4-3, in October 2010.
