PRINCETON, N.J. (9/14/13) - The Princeton men’s soccer team looks to right the ship when it hosts Seton Hall in the home opener on Sunday, Sept. 15 on Myslik Field at Roberts Stadium at 2 p.m.

The Tigers suffered a one-goal loss at Rutgers on Friday night, 3-2. Sophomore Thomas Sanner and junior Cameron Porter both converted penalty kicks as Princeton outshot Rutgers, 13-11. Senior goalkeeper Seth MacMillan made two saves and senior defender Chris Benedict was credited with a team save. Overall Princeton is 0-2 on the season after a loss to FDU in the season opener. The Tigers have dominated the second halves of both games but haven't been able to overcome first-half deficits.

Although the series between Princeton and Seton Hall is tied at 11-11-5, it's been Princeton that has had the better luck lately. The Tigers have won the last five meetings including a 2-1 win to open the 2012 season and a offensive explosion in 2011 that resulted in a 7-3 game. The last time the Pirates visited Roberts Stadium, in 2010, the teams played extra time as Princeton won 3-2 in overtime.

Seton Hall suffered its first loss of the season on Friday night at George Mason, 1-0. The Pirates are 2-1-2 overall with three of their five games resulting in overtime. The squad is 1-0-2 in those overtime games, defeating Delaware 5-4 while tying Drexel and Monmouth. The freshman class have been the leaders thus far as rookie Samuel Geiler leads the team in scoring with four goals. Redshirt freshman Danny Bartok has two goals and one assist, while Konrad Piewa, George Velasquez and Victor Manosalvas have four points apiece. Rookie goalie Julian Spindler has a 1-1-2 record and has a 1.12 goals against average and a .643 save percentage with nine saves on 14 shots. Kevin Bonder has made one appearance and allowed four on eight.
