Yale, Brown to Meet Princeton Tennis Teams in First Full Ivy Weekend

Emily Hahn and Augie Bloom will head with their teams back into Ivy play this weekend.

Yale and Brown are on the docket this weekend for the Princeton tennis teams as the Ivy League season nears its midpoint.

Friday
Women's tennis (9-4, 1-0 Ivy) vs. Yale (11-2, 0-0), 2 p.m., Lenz Tennis Center*, Princeton, N.J.
*If inclement weather, the match will be played indoors in Jadwin Gym.
Rankings: Princeton is ranked No. 65 in the nation, Yale is No. 41
Individuals: Yale has two nationally ranked singles players in Elizabeth Epstein at No. 46 and Blair Seideman at No. 95.
Last meeting: On April 7, 2012, Yale defeated Princeton 4-3 in New Haven. Epstein defeated Hilary Bartlett '12 in a three-setter at first singles to tip the match.
Streak: Yale 2 overall, Princeton 1 in Princeton
On the Tigers: Princeton has won four of its last five matches, beginning the Ivy season with a 6-1 win over Penn in Philadelphia last Saturday.
On the Bulldogs: Yale's two losses this season were to then-No. 25 Vanderbilt 4-1 on Jan. 28 and then-No. 47 Virginia on Mar. 16.

Saturday
Women's tennis vs. Brown (6-7, 0-0), 12 p.m., Lenz Tennis Center*, Princeton, N.J.
*If inclement weather, the match will be played indoors in Jadwin Gym.
Rankings: Princeton is ranked No. 65 in the nation, Brown is unranked.
Individuals: Neither Princeton nor Brown feature ranked individuals.
Last meeting: On April 6, 2012, Brown defeated Princeton 5-2 in Providence. Princeton won the doubles point but saw Brown win five singles matches to take the team victory.
Streak: Brown 1 overall, 1 in Princeton
On the Bears: Brown will visit Penn Friday. The Bears last played on a two-match trip to South Florida, losing at then-No. 9 Miami 6-1 and defeating Florida International 6-1.

Men's tennis (12-4, 1-0 Ivy) at Yale (14-3, 0-0), 2 p.m., Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center, New Haven, Conn.
Rankings: Princeton is ranked No. 51 in the nation, Yale is ranked No. 54.
Individuals: Princeton's Matija Pecotic is ranked No. 7 in the nation, and Pecotic and Zack McCourt are the No. 33 doubles team. Yale's Daniel Hoffman and Marc Powers are the No. 74 doubles team.
Last meeting: On April 8, 2012, Princeton beat Yale 4-3 at the Lenz Tennis Center. Matt Siow had the clinching singles win.
Streak: Princeton 5 overall, 2 at Yale
On the Tigers: Princeton has won nine of its last 10 matches, save a 5-2 defeat at No. 11 Pepperdine on Mar. 20. Matija Pecotic is on a 16-match winning streak in singles play in Ivy League dual matches and hasn't lost since his freshman year.
On the Bulldogs: Yale has won 10 of its last 11 matches. Matt Saiontz, who has played doubles in recent matches for the Bulldogs, is the younger brother of two Princeton women's tennis alumnae, Melissa Saiontz '10 and Rachel Saiontz '12.

Sunday
Men's tennis at Brown (11-6, 0-0), 2 p.m., Varsity Tennis Courts, Providence, R.I.
Rankings: Princeton is ranked No. 51 in the nation, Brown is unranked.
Individuals: Princeton's Matija Pecotic is ranked No. 7 in the nation, and Pecotic and Zack McCourt are the No. 33 doubles team.
Last meeting: On April 7, 2012, Princeton beat Brown 4-3 at the Lenz Tennis Center. Dan Richardson had the clinching singles victory.
Streak: Princeton 3 overall, 1 at Brown
On the Bears: Brown has won eight of its last nine matches after a 3-5 start.
