Senior Zach Bintliff will be the sixth seed at 149 pounds, while freshman Scott Gibbons will be the sixth seed at 184, when the 109th EIWA Championships begin tomorrow at 11 am at the Rutgers Athletic Center.
Those are Princeton's only two seeded wrestlers when the Tigers begin their pursuit for some of the 45 automatic bids to the NCAA Championships Friday. The EIWA Championships will be held in four sessions over two days, with the finals being held Saturday at 3 pm. Check out all the links above for everything you'll need to know about the weekend.
Bintliff, who earned a career-best 20 wins this season, will open against Bucknell's Adam Healey in the first round. Those two did not meet this season. If Bintliff wins, he would face third-seeded Daniel Young of Army in the quarterfinals; Young, who did not face Bintliff this season, received a first-round bye.
Gibbons received a first-round bye at 184 and will face either third-seeded Dan Rinaldi of Rutgers or unseeded Josh Popple of Harvard. Gibbons lost close matches to both, including a 7-5 loss to Rinaldi at Rutgers early in the season.
