SOUTH BEND, Ind. (3/1/13) - The Princeton men's distance medley
relay has made Ivy League history and is headed to the NCAA Indoor Championships. (scroll down to watch video of the race and the team cheering them on from the locker room)
The relay of junior Michael Williams, senior Austin
Hollimon, senior Russell Dinkins and senior Peter Callahan ran a Princeton and
Ivy record of 9:27.74 at the Alex Wilson Invitational at Notre Dame this
evening.
The time is the second-best time in the nation, behind Penn
State who ran 9:26.60 in the first heat. The previous best time prior to
tonight was Texas' 9:31.82.
The splits were 2:55, 0.46, 1:48.5 and 3:56.5.
The top 12 times on the descending order list will
go to the NCAA Championships in Fayetteville, Ark.
Princeton has the top three times in the Ivy League in the
DMR. Williams and Callahan ran with Trevor Van Ackeren '12 and Tom Hopkins '14 last
year and ran 9:31.95. The Tigers had a DMR run 9:35.02 in 2011.
