PRINCETON, N.J. (2/12/13) - Senior Mike Condon of the Princeton men's hockey team has been named the ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the week for the week ending Jan. 11. He was also named the GoPrincetonTigers.com Athlete of the Week.
Condon posted a weekend sweep of Colgate and Cornell on the road. The two wins moved Princeton from sixth to third place in the league. He made 75 saves and allowed just two goals for a 1.00 goals against average and a .974 save percentage.
On Friday at Colgate, Condon earned the first star of the game after making 36 saves, including 17 in the first period as Princeton was outshot 18-8. On Saturday at Cornell, Condon stopped a season-high 39 shots and earned a shutout. Thirty of his saves came in the first two periods as Princeton picked up four penalties to Cornell's one and spent 8 minutes on the man advantage.
Condon, and Princeton, went 4-0 this year against Cornell and Colgate.
Princeton hosts Clarkson & St. Lawrence this weekend Feb. 15 & 16.
