Rasheed Earns Second Consecutive Ivy Player of the Week Honor
For the second consecutive week and 11th time of her career, Princeton women's basketball senior Niveen Rasheed has been named Ivy League Player of the Week. She is now tied for third all-time in Ivy history earning the weekly honor.
The guard is coming off a 39-point and 21-rebound weekend performance, helping guide the Tigers to their 29th consecutive Ivy win.
At Brown on Feb. 9, she scored 10 points and tallied team-highs in rebounds (9) and steals (6) in the Tigers' 68-37 win. The following evening at Yale, Rasheed put together a career performance. She scored a game-high 29 points, setting a new career-high, and grabbed 12 rebounds for her seventh double-double of the year. Princeton defeated the Bulldogs 99-53, establishing a new single-game scoring mark.
Rasheed is averaging Ivy-bests in points and steals with 16.9 and 4.7, respectively, while leading the Tigers with 9.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game.
Princeton (14-5, 5-0 Ivy) opens a four-game homestand this weekend with Dartmouth on Friday, Feb. 15 and Harvard the next day.
