PRINCETON, N.J. (2/6/13) - The Princeton track & field teams host the annual HYP meet on Saturday, Feb 9.
The meet begins at 10 a.m., with the men's weight throw. The final event is scheduled for 3:45 p.m.
The women's team has won the last three HYP meets and seven of the last 10.The Tigers earned 80 points last year, with Harvard second with 65.5 and Yale third with 12.5 points.
'12 won two events. She clocked a 7.61 in the 60 and a 24.86 in the 200. Emily Easton '15 was second in both events at 7.79 and 25.22. Other scorers in the events were Abidemi Adenikinju '13 and Lily Miller '14. In the hurdles, Tejumade Adewole '15 beat Harvard by .04 of a second for the win.
Greta Feldman '13 earned a win in the mile at 4:48.69, and Cecilia Barowski '15 followed with a win in the 400 in 55.43. Princeton went 1-2 in the 3000, with Mel Newbery '13 winning
in 9:43.06 and Therea Devine '14 placing second in 9:45.37. The
Tigers also earned wins in the 4x440 relay (3:49.07) and the 4x880 relay
Nonny Okwelogu '15 placed second in the shot put with a throw
of 13.22m. The Tigers also got a second-place finish from sophomore Theresa Kennedy in the high jump (1.65).
Princeton picked up its first win in the triple jump, and it did so with a 1-2 finish. Imani Oliver '14 won the event with a jump of 12.19, while Kennedy picked up another second-place finish with a jump of 11.15. Tory Worthen '13 won the pole vault (4.00), while classmate Bianca Reo
placed third (3.60).
