PRINCETON, N.J. (1/2/13) - The Princeton men's hockey team can breathe a sigh of relief as it begins a five-game homestand after spending 11 of its first 14 games on the road. The Tigers host Harvard on Friday, Jan. 4 at 7 p.m., and No. 8 Dartmouth on Saturday, Jan. 5 at 4 p.m.

EYE ON THE TIGERS
Princeton returns home to Hobey Baker Rink for a five-game homestand. The Tigers are 3-7-4 overall after a tie and a loss at the Catamount Cup last weekend in Vermont. Princeton is tied for fifth in the ECAC Hockey standings with a 2-3-3- mark. The Tigers' power-play unit moved back into the top-10 in the rankings and is at No. 5, converting 12 of 51 for a 23.5 conversion percentage. The penalty kill is also one of the best in the nation at 87.3 percent (62/71).

Sophomore Tyler Maugeri and junior Andrew Calof are the team's leading scorers with 16 points apiece. Maugeri has six goals and 10 assists while Calof has five goals and 11 assists. Junior Andrew Ammon is also in double digits with 10 points on five goals and assists each. Senior defenders Eric Meland and Michael Sdao are next on the scoring list with nine and eight points, respectively. Junior Sean Bonar started in goal in both games last weekend after seeing limited action in the first half of the season. He has an .876 save percentage and a 3.81 goals against average. Senior Mike Condon has started in 11 games and has a .912 save percentage and a 2.71 GAA.

THE PRINCETON/HARVARD SERIES
Harvard leads the 100+ year series 146-55-11. The teams split last season with Princeton winning a 4-3 game in Cambridge, and Harvard taking a 4-3 game in Princeton. Seniors Michael Sdao and Eric Meland lead the team in scoring against the Crimson with five points apiece. Juniors Jack Berger, Andrew Calof and Kevin Ross have three points. Junior Sean Bonar has been in goal for the last three Harvard games and has a 3.61 GAA and an .874 save percentage. Senior Mike Condon earned a shutout in his lone game versus Harvard, making 36 saves.

SCOUTING THE CRIMSON
Harvard is 4-5-1 overall and 3-3 in the league for ninth place. The Crimson played one game since the holiday break, falling 5-1 to Northeastern on Saturday. Harvard averages 2.20 goals per game and allows an average of 2.70 gpg. The Crimson's power play ranks last in Division I, with just three goals on 39 chances for 7.7 percent. The penalty kill has converted 82.1 percent of its opportunities (32/39).

Freshman Jimmy Vessey is the team's leading scorer with five goals and three assists for eight points. Sophomore Tommy O'Regan has one goal and a team-high six assists for seven points. Senior Alex Fallstrom adds five points, while rookies Kyle Criscuolo and Brian Hart chip in four apiece. Junior Raphael Girard has started in goal in every game. He has a .918 save percentage and a 2.69 GAA.

THE PRINCETON/DARTMOUTH SERIES
Dartmouth holds a 95-83-14 edge in the series that began in 1907. The Big Green are undefeated in the last four meetings, the last meeting in February 2012 ending in a 3-3 tie. Senior Rob Kleebaum has five points against the Big Green, while junior Andrew Calof has four points. Senior Mike Condon and junior Sean Bonar have both played two games against Dartmouth. Bonar has a .905 save percentage and a 3.07 GAA, while Condon has an. 871 save percentage and a 3.52 GAA.

SCOUTING THE BIG GREEN
Dartmouth enters the weekend with an 8-3-2 overall record and ranks No. 8 in the latest USCHO.com poll. The team split at its own holiday tournament last weekend, defeating UNH 4-1 and falling to UMass 3-2. The Big Green is second in the ECAC with a 4-1-1 mark. Dartmouth has the seventh-best scoring offense in the nation, averaging 3.46 gpg, while allowing 2.23. The team's penalty kill ranks second nationally, killing of 50 of 53, while the power play has converted 9 of 52 for 17.3 percent.

Three players are in double digits in scoring led by sophomore Tyler Sikura. Sikura has eight goals and 11 assists for 19 points. Junior Matt Lindblad has 15 points on five goals and 10 helpers. Junior Eric Robinson adds 13 points on eight goals and five assists. Senior Dustin Walsh and sophomore Brandon McNally have both scored five goals apiece. Junior Cab Morris has started in eight of the team's 13 games. He has a 1.98 GAA and an .922 save percentage. Rookie Charles Grant has a .921 save percentage and a 2.38 GAA in five starts.
