Princeton goalie Alex Gow capped off his freshman campaign by winning USA Water Polo's "Save of the Year" Thursday. Gow dominated the poll with 260 votes, defeating Olympians Betsey Armstrong and Merrill Moses. All three nominated saves came on national television, with Gow being the only collegiate player.

Gow's "Save of the Year" was versus then-No. 3 California on Sept. 7 on ESPNU. With 2:49 left in regulation, he stopped a 5-meter penalty shot.

On the year, Gow saw action in 23 games, starting 19. He earned eight victories and had a .505 saves percentage.
