At the very beginning of each semester, student-athletes should arrange for a time to speak in-person with their professors/instructors about all known conflicts that will arise during the course of the semester. Student-athletes should take to that meeting a copy of their schedule, which can be printed from www.goprincetontigers.com, along with a copy of the university's student-athlete travel letter to explain the nature and scope of the conflict and express a desire to make up for any missed coursework.

Following that meeting, student-athletes should send a follow-up e-mail to their professor/instructor listing the dates of the known conflicts and attaching both the copy of the schedule and the travel letter.

1-2 weeks prior to the actual conflict, the student-athlete should write again to remind the professor/instructor about the conflict.

If the above has taken place and a professor/instructor wishes to have further confirmation or clarification about the student-athlete's absence from class, the student-athlete should send a request to Dean Tara Christie Kinsey (tarac@princeton.edu). Even if the professor/instructor asks for the coach to confirm the absence, student-athletes should refer the inquiry to Dean Kinsey.
