A day after earning her fourth consecutive All-America First
Team honor, Princeton field hockey senior Katie Reinprecht was named the 2012
Longstreth/NFHCA Division I National Player of the Year, it was announced
Wednesday.
Reinprecht is coming off a whirlwind year, helping guide the
Tigers to the program's first-ever NCAA National Championship behind a 21-1
overall and perfect 7-0 Ivy record. She was named the unanimous Ivy League
Defensive Player of the Year, the Longstreth/NFHCA Mid-Atlantic Player of the
Year and was tabbed a four-time First-Team All-Ivy and All-Region selection.
She concluded the year with a team-best 19 assists and
scored nine goals for 37 points. She averaged 0.90 assists per game, ranking
second in the nation. She concludes her career ranked second in career assists with 49,
second in assists in a season with 19 and fourth in a career in points with 155.
