Seniors Kathleen Sharkey (field hockey) and Tim Kingsbury (football) join water polo head coach Luis Nicolao on the eve of a crucial weekend for all three programs.

Sharkey is the nation's leading scorer, and she leads the second-seeded Princeton field hockey team into the NCAA semifinals Friday against Maryland. Princeton is making its second trip to the NCAA final weekend over the last four years, and Sharkey has been one of the driving forces for a team that has lost only one game this season.

Kingsbury has been a three-year starter for the football team, and this senior linebacker has saved some of his best efforts for Princeton's recent drive towards a potentially historic finish. Princeton hosts Dartmouth Saturday at 1, and can go from 1-9 to a winning season with a victory. With a little help from Cornell, it can also become the first team in Ivy history to be picked to finish last in the preseason poll and end the year with at least a share of the title.

Nicolao has led the Princeton men's water polo team to two of the last three Eastern Championships, and he will try to make it three in four years when DeNunzio Pool serves as host for the 2012 championship weekend. The Tigers open with Eastern power Brown Friday afternoon; a victory could drive a youthful squad to a memorable weekend.
