NESHANIC STATION, N.J. -- Princeton rising junior Kelly Shon fell in the match-play round of 32 at the U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship Thursday at Neshanic Valley Golf Club, ending her run at the event.
USC rising junior Rachel Morris defeated Shon 4 and 3 in the second round of match play, winning the first, fourth, fifth and seventh holes to take a four-hole lead. Shon took the ninth hole, but Morris regained her lead two holes later. The players halved holes 12 through 15, allowing Morris to clinch the match and move on to the round of 16.
Shon will compete in the U.S. Women's Open in Wisconsin July 5-8.
