PRINCETON, N.J. (5/12/12) - The 4x400 relay posted a Princeton program record in the final event on Day 2 of the ECAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Weaver Stadium on Saturday, May 12.
Sophomore Carrie Vuong, freshman Cecilia Barowski, junior Joie Hand and senior Eileen Moran ran 3:39.96 in the preliminary round. This is the third time this season that the 4x400 relay has rewritten the records book, starting with a 3:41.07 at the Penn Relays and a 3:40.26 at Heps. The final is scheduled for 3 p.m., tomorrow.
Moran will also run in the final of the 200 after putting up a preliminary time of 24.25.
Junior Greta Feldman posted the best time in the 800 at 2:06.05, winning her heat and matching her personal best mark in the event. She will be one of nine that will race in the final tomorrow at 1:30 p.m.
In the 1500, junior Alexis Mikaelian had the third best time at 4:29.94 after winning heat two to qualify her for the final tomorrow at 12:25 p.m. Classmate Molly Higgins missed the finals by just one place.
In the field events, juniors Tory Worthen and Lauren Tauscher both scored for the Tigers in the pole vault. Worthen finished third as she cleared 3.78 (12-4.75) on her first attempt. Tauscher cleared the same height, on her second attempt to finish in fifth place.
