The Athletics Friends Groups at Princeton University support a wide range of needs and opportunities within each of the 38 varsity athletics teams. Currently, there are 18 Athletics Friends Groups, as they are co-ed groups. Each Athletics Friends Group has at least one volunteer president, and in some cases, other volunteer board members to assist the President(s) in carrying out activities of the Group.
The Department of Athletics and coaches rely on the financial support of their Athletics Friends Group for continued success in their programs. The mission of AFGs is to secure philanthropic and volunteer support that enables coaches to recruit, retain and develop some of the finest scholar-athletes in the world, and to provide our student-athletes with the best possible overall experience. AFG events and programs (such as fundraising dinners, alumni days, on-the-road gatherings, mentoring and networking nights) offer invaluable opportunities to support the Princeton Athletics community.
We encourage all Princeton alumni letter winners and participants, parents of student-athletes, parents of alumni, and friends of Princeton Athletics to become involved in Athletics Friends Groups! If you have questions regarding Friends Groups or how they work, please contact Diana Dreyfus K02, Assistant Director - Athletics Friends Groups, at ddreyfus@princeton.edu.
