The Princeton men's basketball team will make its second appearance in the College Basketball Invitational presented by Zebra Pen, the tournament's organizers announced Sunday night.
The Tigers will open Tuesday at Evansville at 7 p.m. local time, 8 p.m. Eastern Time, and the game will be televised by HDNet. Princeton has faced Evansville just once, a 53-32 loss on Dec. 5, 2007 in Evansville.
The full CBI bracket can be found here.
It will be Princeton's second CBI game in the state of Indiana, head coach Mitch Henderson's home state. After a win over Duquesne to open the 2010 CBI, the Tigers beat IUPUI in Indianapolis to advance to the tournament's semifinal.
If the Tigers advance Tuesday, they would face the winner of the game between Pittsburgh and Wofford on Monday, Mar. 19.
The Tigers enter the postseason at 19-11, having won 18 of their last 24 and eight of their last nine. Princeton went 2-2 against teams in the NCAA Tournament field, beating Florida State and Harvard while the two losses, to Harvard and North Carolina State, both on the road, came by a total of five points.
Princeton will be aiming for its third straight 20-win season, the first time Princeton would have had three straight 20-win seasons since 1997-99.
Princeton and Evansville have no common opponents this season. The Purple Aces enter the postseason at 16-15 overall and 9-9 in the Missouri Valley Conference. The MVC got two teams into the NCAA Tournament, Wichita State and Creighton, and two more in the NIT in Northern Iowa and Illinois State.
