After suffering its first loss of the 2012 season the day before, the No. 18 Princeton women's water polo team bounced back with a 9-5 victory over Mercyhurst to open day two action at the Harvard Invitational. The Tigers (16-1 overall, 4-0 Southern) concluded the weekend with their most dominating win of the year, 18-8, over Brown.

Mercyhurst would hold the early advantage, 3-2, before Princeton rallied back with a third quarter four-goal run. Up 6-5 heading into the fourth, the Tigers sealed the win with three goals over the final eight minutes of action.

Defensively, Princeton tallied 15 steals, with Jessie Holechek and Molly McBee leading the way with three apiece. In the cage, senior Katlin Poladian had five saves and an assist in the game.

Sarana Soroka led the Tiger offense with three goals, all on counter attacks, in addition to an assist. McBee and Katie Rigler had a pair of goals, while Taylor Dunstan won both of her sprints.

Versus Brown, Princeton's season-best 18-goal effort was led by Rigler's season-high six goals.

The Tigers took off with a five-goal first quarter, while goalie Kristen Ward tallied a pair of saves to keep the Bears off the board. Over the next two quarters, Princeton went on an 11-2 run to remain in control of the game. In the fourth, Brown rallied back with a 6-2 run of its own to conclude the game.

Ward had five saves in the game over three quarters of work, while Poladian made two saves in the fourth quarter.

Holechek had three goals, while Dunstan and Rachele Gyorffy scored two each. Dunstan also made four steals, two assists and drew a pair of ejections.

Princeton next heads to the West Coast for a six-game slate. The Tigers open up their California road swing with four games at the San Diego State-hosted Aztec Invitational from Mar. 17-18. At the tournament, Princeton will face No. 14 CSU Northridge, Pacific, No. 20 UC San Diego and host No. 5 SDSU.
