IRVING, Texas -- On two straight Sundays, the Princeton women's tennis team has battled SMU to a 4-3 finish. This time, the Tigers got the win.
Battling their eighth ranked opponent in 12 matches so far this season, the Tigers used a doubles sweep and singles wins from Lindsay Graff, Monica Chow and Joan Cannon to claim the win. Chow didn't give up a game in her victory on court five.
In last week's meeting at the Blue-Gray National Tennis Classic, Princeton got wins from Chow and Cannon and got the doubles point, but Graff was able to flip her match at second singles to make the difference in the rematch. Graff, now nationally ranked at No. 116, lost last week's match in three sets but only gave up one game in today's match.
Princeton will have one more match, Wednesday in Jadwin Gym against Memphis, before taking a break from competition prior to the spring trip to Miami, Fla.
