A pair of overtime victories by sophomores Bobby Grogan and Zach Bintliff helped the Princeton wrestling team to its first victory of the 2009-10 season Saturday during a tri-meet at Rutgers. The Tigers defeated George Mason 29-16, but fell 42-0 to nationally ranked Rutgers in the evening finale.

Grogan picked up his first dual meet win of the season with an overtime takedown of Hunter Mansplie for a 3-1 victory. That win, combined with a first-period pin by 13th-ranked Garrett Frey at 125 pounds, gave Princeton a 9-0 lead through two matches. A forfeit victory opened the lead to 15-0, and Bintliff followed with an exciting 6-4 overtime win at 141 pounds.

Bintliff was coming off a wild 9-5 over Binghamton's Anwar Goeres last weekend, where a late five-point move sent Bintliff to the win, and he built on that momentum with a win over Danny Herndon.

George Mason would pick up seven points over the next two matches, but junior Daniel Kolodzik picked up a much-needed win at 165. He dominated Shohei Takagi during a 15-0 technical fall that ended at the 5:41 mark. A forfeit win at 184 gave Princeton its final six points in the 29-16 win.

The nightcap belonged to the home team, as Rutgers controlled the match from the start. One Tiger highlight came from freshman Brandon Rolnick, who limited the fifth-ranked Mario Mason to a decision victory at 149.

Princeton will host its final home match until February Sunday at 1 p.m. when it takes on Rider.
