Upholding Princeton's tradition of athletic success is central to the University's unparalleled spirit of community. Current varsity athletes, alumni letter winners and friends and supporters of Princeton Athletics represent a strong community built upon shared values and experiences.

Athletics are an integral part of the educational mission of the University and by supporting Princeton Athletics through an annual gift or endowment gift to a Friends Group or the Princeton Varsity Club, you are supporting the mantra of "Education through Athletics" and playing an essential role in the Department of Athletics ability to build upon an unmatched tradition of athletic success at Princeton.

Annual Gifts to Athletics:

Gifts made to a varsity or sport club Athletic Friends Group or the PVC, are unrestricted funds that allow Tiger coaches and the Director of Athletics funding that can be used immediately for a team, or the department's most important needs and opportunities.

Athletic Friends Groups - Gifts support sport-specific needs such as recruiting, out-of-region travel, equipment, technology, team banquets, alumni and parent functions, communications and more...

Princeton Varsity Club - Gifts support broad-based events and programming including the PVC Awards Banquet, Letter Sweater Program, Tigers in the Community, PVC Weight Room maintenance, alumni events and receptions and more...

Athletics Endowment:

Just as endowments help support faculty members and academic departments, endowment gifts to the Department of Athletics helps ensure that Princeton's student-athletes have the resources they need to make the most of their athletic potential as they continue to meet high standards of academic excellence.

Programmatic Endowment - Gifts of endowment may support a particular sport or team, and are often a way to honor the donor or someone the donor wishes to designate. Programmatic endowment serves the department and individual teams well, in that it tends to be broad-based and designated to the highest program priority.

Endowed Coaching Positions - Much as endowed professorships acknowledge distinguished teacher-scholars, endowed coaching positions recognize the talented coaches who help young Princetonians not only excel in the sports they love, but also learn the great life lessons that sports can teach. In addition to recognizing extraordinary ability and dedication, endowed coaching positions reinforce the University's commitment to excellence in teaching and learning across the entire educational experience.
