In an up-and-down performance, the Princeton wrestling team placed 29th in the midst of a loaded field at the 2009 Southern Scuffle.

All individual results are below.

"I was very disappointed with our first round," head coach Chris Ayres said. "I thought we had some good draws and we lost a lot of close bouts in that round. The second round had some good bouts with Zach Bintliff, Danny Scotton, Andy Lowy, Mike Alvarez, Travis Erdman, and Bobby Grogan picking up wins. Scotton, Lowy and Alvarez picked up wins in the following round as well and then were eliminated.

"If we perform at the EIWA's like we did at the Scuffle, then we will all be in the stands on the second day," Ayres added. "Overall, we have a lot to work on before the end of the year. Namely, these wrestlers need to start believing in themselves. They need to know they are capable of achieving great things now. Once they get the "belief" they will achieve great things."

Princeton will return to action January 8 when it takes on Rider in Lawrence, N.J.
