PRINCETON -- Sydney Johnson '97, the Franklin C. Cappon-Edward G. Green '40 head coach of men's basketball at Princeton, has named Martin Bahar as the new director of men's basketball operations.
“We are pleased to have Martin Bahar joining Princeton basketball as our director of basketball operations," Johnson said. "Martin comes to us
from Vanderbilt University and Georgetown University, two elite
academic institutions with highly successful basketball programs.
Martin’s appreciation for Princeton's high standards on the court and
in the classroom make him a very good fit for our program.”
Bahar spent last season as an assistant in the men's basketball office at Georgetown. Following his 2006 graduation from Vanderbilt, where he served as a manager to the men's basketball team for four seasons, Bahar was a graduate manager at Georgetown while pursuing a masters degree.
A native of Potomac, Md., Bahar completed a double major in communications and Spanish at Vanderbilt and a masters in communications, culture and technology at Georgetown in 2008.
Bahar replaces Dan Connelly, who spent two seasons as the director of men's basketball operations at Princeton from 2007-2009 before accepting a graduate assistant coaching role at Memphis for the upcoming year.
