Five members of the Princeton Class of 2018 are currently competing in the World Junior Championships in Germany.

The international racing season continues this week, and five soon-to-be Tigers will be heading to Hamburg, Germany, to compete in the 2014 World Rowing Junior Championships.

Three members of the open rowing Class of 2018 are together in the U.S. W8+, which qualified for Sunday's grand final by placing third in its repechage.

Melissa Curtis, of Rye, N.Y., will row in the 6-seat. This is her second stint in the 8+ at the World Juniors; she helped the U.S.A. finish fifth in the 2013 Championships. Erica Swartwout, of Amityville, N.Y., will row in the 3-seat, and she is a former gold medalist at the 2013 CanAmMex Regatta. Riley Macaulay, of Mercer Island, Wash., will row in the bow, and she finished fourth in the quadruple sculls at the 2014 USRowing Youth National Championships.

The heavyweights have two recruits in competition. Augustin Wambersie, a Belgian citizen who lives in Rio de Janeiro, is competing for the Belgium 4x; his boat is competing in a Saturday semifinal. Dan de Groot, of St. Catharines, Canada, won his 1x quarterfinal and will also be competing in a Saturday semifinal.

A recap of the World Juniors, as well an announcement of Senior World Championships qualifiers, will be posted next week.
