Women's Track & Field Wins Four Events Highlighted by Ratcliffe's Record

PRINCETON, N.J. (4/19/14) – Freshman Julia Ratcliffe continues to rewrite records books near and far as she put on another impressive performance at the Larry Ellis Invitational on Saturday, April 19.

Ratcliffe threw 70.28 (230-07) to once again put up a New Zealand national record, Ivy League record, Princeton record and personal record. Her throw last weekend of 69.60 did all of the above but she continues to push herself and improve. The NCAA leader in the event, she has gained 7.31m (23-11.75) from the start of the season to now.

Senior Imani Oliver had a first, second and fifth place finish today. She won the triple jump with a leap of 12.83 (42-1.25). She was the runner-up and the winner of Flight A of the long jump with a jump of 5.70 (18-8.50). Oliver was also the anchor of the 4x100 relay that placed fifth. Joined by junior Joanna Anyanwu, junior Emily Easton, senior Charquia Wright, the relay clocked a 47.65.

Both Wright and Anyanwu competed in the 100 with Wright sixth at 12.26 and Anyanwu was eighth at 12.30.

Following up Oliver in the long jump was sophomore Sara Ronde and freshman Alex Lanzafame. Ronde placed sixth with a jump of 5.45 (17-10.75), while Lanzafame was eighth at 5.30 (17-4.75).

Freshman Allison Harris was the runner-up and top collegiate in the pole vault. Harris cleared a PR of 3.95 (12-11.50), improving on her previous best of 3.76.

The Tigers went 1-2-4-8-10 in the 800. They were led by freshman Zoe Sims who clocked a 2:11.96 and runner-up Lizzie Bird at 2:12.54. Senior Molly Higgins was fourth at 2:13.16 and senior Kristin Smoot and sophomore Maria Seykora finished at 2:15.49 and 2:15.65.

Sophomore Meghan McMullin earned a victory in the 400 hurdles, making her lap in 1:00.08. McMullin was the anchor of the 4x400 as well. Junior Emily Broyles, freshman Elisa Steele, junior Kim Mackay joined her for the second-place 3:48.44 finish.

Other top-10 finishers include: Inka Busack 1.65 (5-5) / 6th high jump; Ashley Vandolash 40.40 (132-06) /8th javelin; Chelsea Cioffi 47.39 (155-06) / 9th hammer.

Princeton will compete at the Penn Relays next week, April 24-26 and also at the TCNJ Lions Invitational on April 26.
