Box Score & Play-by-Play: Game 1 | Game 2

A second-inning grand slam by Pacific's Taylor Brink gave Pacific all the runs it needed in Wednesday's first game. Princeton avoided a run-rule defeat when Maddie Cousens doubled home Skye Jerpbak in the seventh, but that was as close as Princeton got in the opener once Pacific got on the board.

It was Princeton that got on the scoreboard early in the second game, with Alyssa Schmidt cashing in a leadoff walk to Rachel Rendina in the first inning, two frames before the Tigers tacked on three more. Schmidt had a two-run single in that inning and later scored on an error as Princeton took a 4-0 lead. That was enough for rookie Erica Nori, who gave up four hits and four walks but let single runs across only in the third and fourth innings in her complete-game win.

Alyssa Schmidt was 2 for 4 with three RBIs in the second game after going 1 for 3 in the opener.

While Taylor Brink's second-inning grand slam was the play of the game in the opener, Alyssa Schmidt's two-RBI single in the third inning of the nightcap staked Princeton to a 3-0 lead.

• Princeton is now 7-5 all-time against Pacific

• Freshman Haley Hineman now has a four-game hitting streak and hits in nine of her last 10 games after going 0 for 12 in her first five games as a Tiger.

• Sophomore Skye Jerpbak's two-hit game in the opener was her second multi-hit game as a Tiger and first since March 2, 2013 against Delaware State.

• Sophomore Kate Miller had her first career hit in the second game.

• Junior Alyssa Schmidt has hit in three straight games and seven of the last eight after going 1 for 13 in the five-game Central Florida tournament to open the season.

Princeton will head to Santa Clara's tournament for five games beginning Friday. The Tigers will take on the host Broncos, California and Grand Canyon.
