PRINCETON, N.J. (2/26/14) - The Princeton women's hockey team makes its 20th appearance in the ECAC Tournament as the Tigers are seeded No. 6 and face No. 3 Cornell in a best-of-three series at Lynah Rink this weekend. With the Cornell men's team concluding the regular-season at home this weekend, the series will be played in the afternoon (Friday at 3:30, Saturday at 2 and Sunday at 2).

EYE ON THE TIGERS
Princeton is the No. 6 seed in the ECAC Playoffs with a 10-9-3 ECAC record and a 14-11-4 overall record. In Jeff Kampersal's 18 years as head coach he has taken the team to the quarterfinals 15 times. The Tigers return to the Tournament after missing out last year for the first time in 12 years.

Senior Denna Laing sits atop the scoring column with 25 points on 12 goals and 13 assists. Junior Brianna Leahy and senior Sally Butler both have 20 points. Leahy has eight goals and 12 assists while Butler has a team-high 16 helpers and four goals. Sophomore Jaimie McDonell is next on the list with 15 points. Three defenders follow - senior Rose Alleva and junior Ali Pankowski both have 14 ponts while senior Gabie Figueroa has 13. Cassidy Tucker leads the freshmen class is scoring with 12 points. Three other skaters have 10 points. Sophomore Kimberly Newell is 12-11-4 in goal with a .908 save percentage and a 2.64 goals against average.

PRINCETON/CORNELL SERIES
Princeton leads the series with Cornell 41-30-3 but has a two-game edge when playing at Lynah Rink, 17-15. The Tigers ended an eight-game winless streak in the series last Saturday with a 4-3 win at Lynah Rink, their first win in the series since the 2008-09 season.

Princeton and Cornell have never met in the ECAC Playoffs. The teams did play each other five times in the former Ivy League Tournament between 1980-89.

SCOUTING THE BIG RED
After an 0-2 weekend last weekend Cornell dropepd from first place in the league to third. The winless weekend halted the Big Red winning streak at six games as the team is now 20-5-4 overall and 15-4-3 in the ECAC. Cornell is ranked No. 6 in this week's USCHO poll. Cornell will be out for revenge as its loss to Princeton last Saturday came on Senior Day and gave Harvard the Ivy League title instead of taking it itself.

A pair of juniors lead the Big Red in scoring. Jillian Saulnier has 46 points on 23 goals and assists. Emily Fulton adds 39 points on 17 goals and 22 assists. Senior Jessica Campbell has also reached the 30-point threshold. Three defenders follow in points - Alyssa Gagliardi, Cassandra Poudrier and Hayleight Cudmore who have 24, 24 and 22 points respectively. Senior Lauren Slebodnick is 15-1-3 in goal with a .907 save percentage and a 2.30 GAA. Freshman Paula Voorheis backs up and has seen action in 12 games, including the Princeton game when she came in on relief. Voorheis sports a 1.65 GAA and a .936 save percentage.
