Van Brummen Wins Junior World Cup in Sweden

Princeton sophomore Anna Van Brummen placed first in a field of 189 at the Junior World Cup epee event in Goteborg, Sweden over the weekend.

The field included competitors from 32 nations across the Americas, Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia (results here).

Van Brummen was one of two current Princeton women's fencers who competed internationally while most of the team was at Northwestern enjoying a 13-0 weekend and victories over all four ranked opponents they faced. Junior epeeist Katharine Holmes placed 47th in a field of 149 at the Senior Women's Epee Grand Prix in Budapest, Hungary while alumna Lindsay Campbell '02 placed 59th (results here).

Eliza Stone '13 was also in Europe over the weekend, competing at the Women's Saber World Cup in Orleans, France, placing 22nd in a field of 120 (results here).
