Coming off a pair of 20-point performances, Princeton women’s basketball junior Blake Dietrick was named Ivy League Player of the Week for the first time in her career. She shares the weekly honor with Yale’s Sarah Halejian.

Dietrick averaged 21.5 points per game to lead the Tigers to a pair of victories over Binghamton, 75-49, and Delaware, 84-80 in overtime, and extend the team’s winning streak to three. She was 15-for-25 (60 percent) from the field, adding seven triples, and went 6-for-8 (75 percent) from the stripe.

On Dec. 11 at Binghamton, Dietrick headlined the offense with a game-high 21 points, going 8-for-13 with five triples, and added six defensive boards to match a team-high. She also dished four assists, for second-best in the game to tie a season high, and had a steal.

In the Tigers’ first overtime contest of the year versus Delaware on Dec. 15, Dietrick again led the offense with a game-high 22 points. She connected on 7-of-12 from the field and added six points from the stripe, along with a game-high four steals, three assists and three defensive boards.

With regulation ticking down, Dietrick ignited a final 4-0 run with 1:13 left to tie things up 74-74 and send the game into extra minutes. At 1:05 in overtime she provided another momentum swinging moment with a triple to give the Tigers the lead for good and snap Delaware’s five-game winning streak.

Dietrick has now scored in double figures in seven games, tallying 20 points or more four times. The point guard is averaging a team-best 15.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game.

Princeton (6-4) will host Illinois State on Wednesday at 7 p.m. before hitting the road for its next four games.
