Women's Cross Country Runs for NCAA Title Saturday

PRINCETON, N.J. (11/21/13) – The Princeton women's cross country team races for the national title as the Tigers tackle the the 2013 NCAA Championship on Saturday, Nov. 23.

This will be the Tigers' first trip the NCAAs as a team since 2010 and ninth overall Princeton had a string of appearances from 2003-10 and have finished as high as fifth in both 2008 and 2009.

Princeton is ranked No. 27 in the final regular-season USTFCCCA national poll. The team has been consistently ranked all season, earning it's highest ranking in week six, coming in 22nd.

Freshman Megan Curham is the Tigers' top runner this year. She was fourth at Heps and fifth at Regionals and will make her NCAA debut. As the No. 2, junior captain Emily de La Bruyere was 10th at Heps and 13th at Regionals as the No. 2 runner. Juniors Lindsay Eysenbach and Kathryn Fluehr have should score as well. Eysenbach was 26th at Heps and 36th at Regionals, while Fluehr was 18th at Heps and 38th at Reginals. Sophomore Kathryn Little has been the No. 5 in during Princeton's championship run. She was 37th at Heps and 43rd at Regionals. Freshmen Lizzie Bird will challenge for a scoring spot as well. This will be the first NCAA championship race for all the aforementioned runners.

The 6k race will be held at LaVerne Gibson Championship Course in Terre Haute, Ind. The race will begin at approximately 1:15 p.m. (ET). A live webcast of the championships will be broadcast from 11:55-1:30 p.m., on NCAA.com.

Princeton will also send a contingent to the ECAC Championship at Van Cortlandt Park in New York. The 5k race is scheduled for an 11 a.m., start.
