Week #3 Poll

PRINCETON, N.J. (10/3/13) - The Princeton women's cross country team returns to action after a three-week hiatus this weekend, Oct. 4 & 5. The team will split off, sending its top group to the Notre Dame Invitational on Friday, and another group to Lehigh's Paul Short Invitational.

The Tigers are ranked No. 30 in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association national poll for week #3 and are fifth in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Princeton will race in the Blue Race on the Notre Dame Golf Course. The 5k race is set to start at 4:15 p.m. The Tigers will face seven other teams ranked in the poll, including: No. 2 Florida State, No. 4 Duke, No. 15 New Mexico, No. 19 Notre Dame, No. 20 Butler, No. 24 San Francisco and No. 28 BYU.

Last year in South Bend, the Tigers finished eighth, led by a 17th-place finish by All-America Greta Feldman. Emily de La Bruyere was three seconds back to take 21st. Jackie Nicholas ran 17:15, followed by Alexis Mikaelian at 17:33 and Marissa Cummings at 17:50. Fresh faces will hit the course this season, led by de La Bruyere, as the only returning scorer.

The Tigers will compete in the Brown Race at Paul Short. The 6k race is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m., on the Goodman campus.

Princeton finished third as a team last year. Lindsday Eysenbach was the top Tiger placing 17th at 22:27. She was followed by Sophie Harkins at 22:45, Maria Seykora, Amanda Chang and Summer Hanson who were separated by 12 seconds.
