Game 3: Princeton at Seton Hall

Friday, Sept. 13, 2013
Owen T. Carroll Field • South Orange, N.J.

Box Score

No scoring

Princeton outshot Seton Hall in shots on goal 6-3. Tyler Lussi had three of those, doing her part to try to become the first freshman on record in program history to score in each of her first three games, but none broke through.

Princeton goalkeeper Darcy Hargadon made two of her three total saves in the second overtime, keeping the tie.

• The series with Seton Hall had its first tie Friday night. The Tigers lead the series 8-2-1.

• Princeton experienced its first scoreless tie since the final game of the 2010 season, against Penn.

• The 0-0 tie is the first one in the 11-match series with Seton Hall. It's the first time Princeton has been shut out against Seton Hall, but it's the sixth time the Tigers have shut out the Pirates.

• Princeton's shutout streak of three games is the fourth-longest to start a season in program history. The 1998 season also started with three shutouts and took the streak deep into the fourth game. Only the 2001 (five) and 2000 (eight) teams were able to complete a fourth straight shutout contest.

• Darcy Hargadon, a junior who started just one game in goal prior to this season, helped keep the team's shutout streak going. Her save total has increased by one each game, from a single save in the opener against Richmond to two against Army and now three at Seton Hall.

Princeton is 10-14-3 all-time against Rutgers (5-1-1), where the Tigers will head for a game Sunday that will start at approximately 2:30 p.m. Rutgers has a men's game prior that will start at noon, affecting the start time of the women's game.
