The Princeton women's soccer program, coming off an undefeated, untied Ivy League season and a win in the NCAA tournament, will welcome nine members of the Class of 2017 onto the team. GoPrincetonTigers.com will introduce you to the newcomers one by one through the offseason.
Gianna Geil • Defender
Laguna Beach, Calif. • Mater Dei High School
Geil was a three-year varsity player at Mater Dei in Santa Ana, Calif., and was a team captain as a senior. An all-league pick her last two years, Geil won offensive MVP honors on her team as a freshman and defensive MVP honors as a junior.
Coach Julie Shackford on Gianna Geil:
"Gigi comes to us from the very successful Tustin United club in California, finishing as a semi-finalist in the National Cup in both 2012 and 2013. She is a left back, comfortable playing on the outside and adept at attacking out of the back. She has really good vision and a high soccer IQ. We look forward to being instrumental in Gigi’s development as a student-athlete."
