Princeton junior Kelly Shon matched par Wednesday at the NCAA Championships and improved her standing more than 30 places as the tournament reached the halfway mark.
At 4-over for the tournament, Shon stands in 45th place after entering the day in 76th place.

Shon began her second round with a birdie on the 10th hole and another on the 17th with pars in between, but she ran into trouble at the turn. A double bogey on the 18th hole moved her back to even par on the day, and she bogeyed the first hole to stand at 1-over. Birdies on the second, fourth and sixth holes put her at 2-under for the day, but she moved back to even par with a double bogey on the seventh hole before making par on the last two.

Though Shon was able to complete her round, 12 players in the 126-player field were still on the course when play was suspended for the day due to rain and lightning delays. Alabama's Stephanie Meadow, the only player to finish in front of Shon at the NCAA East Regional, is the leader at 8-under.

Shon will tee off at 8:28 a.m. NCAA.com will have live video beginning at noon Thursday and Friday. Results through the end of Wednesday's play can be found via Golfstat here.
