Coming off the program’s first NCAA national championship, the Princeton field hockey team will welcome five student-athletes to join the Tigers for the 2013 campaign. Head coach Kristen Holmes-Winn will announce each member of the Class of 2017 individually, so be sure to tune into GoPrincetonTigers.com over the coming weeks to meet the newest additions to the program.

"When you read the individual athlete bio and their comments on why they chose Princeton, you will see a theme: team, family and a winning tradition," said Holmes-Winn. "Our incoming freshmen recognize that when everyone is committed to giving their best and is willing to put the best interest of the team first happiness, success and trust follow. We are very lucky to have found five exceptional young women devoted to becoming their best in all areas of their life.  We welcome Cat Caro, Annabeth Donovan, Ellen Dobrijevic, Andrea Jenkins and Hailey Reeves into the Tiger family and look forward to watching their talents unfold in the classroom, in the community and on the hockey field!"

The second member of the incoming class to be introduced is defender Annabeth Donovan from Unionville, Pa.

“To say Annabeth’s ‘Princeton blood’ runs thick would be an understatement!  Both parents, her grandpa William O'Connor '61 and two sisters Kaitlin '10 and Amy '13 have already walked through the gates of FitzRandolph,” said Holmes-Winn. “What I admire most about AB is that she understands better than anyone the challenges on-and-off the field that a place like Princeton presents and she still chose to come here! AB is a winner, a leader and a great hockey player. After seven years of watching from the sidelines, we can't wait to finally see her in a Tiger uniform.”

Donovan is the third member of her family to play field hockey at Princeton, as both older sisters Katilin and Amy, a member of the 2012 national championship team, were Tiger standouts.

A four-year starter and senior captain, the newest Donovan to suit up in the Orange and Black is coming off a decorated career at Unionville. A four-time all-area and all-league first team selection, the defender was named a regional All-America twice.

She also played ice hockey and lacrosse at Unionville.

“I chose Princeton for the academic and athletic challenge and the family atmosphere of the team. I'm looking forward to keeping up with my sister's standards and winning a national championship!” said Donovan.

She played club field hockey for the WC Eagles, winning three Pool A national indoor tournaments, a national club championship and a pair of U19 Disney Showcases.

Donovan has been playing with the U.S. U19 team for the last two years. With the U19s, she participated in the 2012 Canada tour and the 2013 Holland tour. She has also played on the Junior National Indoor Team, participating in the Scotland tour.
