PRINCETON, N.J. (5/2/13) - It's a battle between the last two Ivy League Tournament Champions as the Princeton women's lacrosse team faces Dartmouth in the Ivy League Tournament semifinals on Friday, May 3 at 4 p.m., at Franklin Field. The winner advances to the championship game on Sunday, versus the winner of Penn/Cornell semifinal with an automatic bid to the NCAAs on the line.

EYE ON THE TIGERS
Princeton is 10-5 overall reaching double figure wins for the 23rd time in school history. The Tigers are ranked No. 15 in the IWLCA poll and No. 11 in the Inside Lacrosse poll. With a 6-1 Ivy League mark, Princeton is the No. 2 seed in the Ivy League Tournament, a tournament it won in 2011. The Ivy League Attacker of the Year, sophomore Erin McMunn leads the team in scoring with 64 points on 37 goals and 27 assists. Junior Sarah Lloyd has 31 points on 17 goals and 14 assists. She leads the team in draw controls with 44 and ground balls with 24. Sophomore Erin Slifer chips in 15 goals and 15 helpers. Freshman Alex Bruno and junior Mary-Kate Sivilli add 25 points apiece. Seniors Jaci Gassaway, Charlotte Davis, Sam Ellis and freshman Anya Gersoff are all in double digits in scoring. Defenders Caroline Rehfuss and Liz Bannantine have caused the most turnovers with 17 and 16, respectively. Junior goalie Caroline Franke sports a 9-4 record with a .454 save percentage and a 10.08 goals against average.

THE SERIES
Princeton leads Dartmouth 23-17 in the all-time series, which began in 1980. It’s been a tight race as of late, with each team winning three times in the last six years. The Tigers have won the last two meetings taking a 15-13 game earlier this season and 12-9 game last year. Dartmouth last won in 2011 by a 15-10 score.

SCOUTING THE BIG GREEN
Dartmouth is the defending Ivy League Tournament champion after defeating Cornell and Penn last year. The Big Green is 9-6 overall and is the No. 3 seed in the tournament with a 5-2 record. They are unranked in the IWLCA poll but are No. 19 in the IL.com poll. Dartmouth capped off the regular-season with a 15-8 win over Harvard on Friday, April 26. Senior Hana Bowers is the team’s leading scorer with 53 points on 40 goals and 13 assists and is second on the team in draws with 40. Junior Liz Calby has a team-high 14 assists and adds 29 goals for 43 points. Sophomore Sarah Byrne and freshman Jaclyn Leto have 21 points apiece, while junior Lindsey Allard has 20 and senior Courtney Bennett contributes 19 points. These six players account for 82 percent of the team’s scoring. Bennett leads the team in draw controls with 46 and caused turnovers with 28. Senior Kelsey Johnson and sophomore Frances Bird are both in double figures in caused turnovers with 17 and 13, respectively. Junior Kristen Giovanniello has played in goal for all but 11 minutes. She has a 9-6 record with a .407 save percentage and a 9.95 GAA. Giovanniello was the Most Outstanding Player of the Tournament in 2012.
