Princeton women’s water polo junior Katie Rigler and freshman Ashleigh Johnson both earned weekly Southern Division honors, it was announced Thursday. Rigler was named Player of the Week and Johnson picked up Rookie and Defensive Player of the Week accolades after helping guide the Tigers to their second consecutive Southern Division championship.
Rigler earned her sixth career Player of the Week recognition, following her 10-goal, three-steal and two-assist performance at Southerns last weekend. She also won all five sprints she swam and drew an ejection.
The utility has team-highs in both goals (56) and ejections drawn (36), and has tallied 21 steals, 11 assists, six blocks and won 31 sprints.

The Florida native tallied 44 saves, six assists and a steal over three matches at Southerns. She also amassed six shutout quarters, two in each game, and allowed only 10 goals against.
Johnson has started all 28 games this year and has a .674 saves percentage. She’s made 295 saves, 33 steals, 19 assists and allowed 143 goals against.
