Fairfax, Va. (4/13/13) - Two program records were posted as the Princeton women's track & field team compteed at the Patriot Open Invitational at George Mason today, Aprl 13.
Junior Imani Oliver, who already owns the Princeton outdoor record in the triple jump, outdid herself with a new PR and new school record. She jumped to 12.71 to win the event. Oliver also is the school record holder in the indoor triple jump, at 12.74.
Sophomore Cecilia Barowski took down a six-year record in the 400. She clocked a 54.30 to take over the top spot in the records book, which was held by Agatha Offorjebe ’09.
Sophomore Jackie Nicholas won the steeplechase with a time of 10:41.20, and junior Clare Gallagher was third at 10:59.57 in her first time competing in the even this season.
Senior Greta Feldman was fifth overall but the second collegian in the 800. Feldman clocked a 2:06.97, her best time in the event this season. Senior Alexis Mikaelian and junior Kacie O’Neil placed 10th and 11th at 2:09.43 and 2:09.90.
Other top-10 finishes on the track included: senior Mel Newbery in the 1500 (4:25.81), senior Joie Hand in the 400 hurdles (1:02.97) and the 4x100 relay (48.19).
In the pole vault, senior Lauren Tauscher had a fourth-place finish as she cleared 3.72. Fellow senior Tory Worthen was ninth at 3.60.
Junior Ashley Vandolah was fifth in the javelin with a throw of 38.93, while classmate Theresa Kennedy was sixth in the high jump at 1.66.
Four others placed in the top-10 in the field events, including: freshmen Inka Busack and Taylor Morgan in the high jump (1.61), freshman Brielle Rowe in the discus (40.81) and junior Chelsea Cioffi in the hammer (45.24).
Princeton hosts the Larry Ellis Invitational next weekend, April 15 & 16 at Weaver Stadium.
