Beginning its spring season, the Princeton women's golf team will head to Hilton Head, S.C., for the two-round Low Country Intercollegiate hosted by Wofford at Moss Creek Golf Club.
Alexandra Wong, Kelly Shon, Sydney Kersten, Anna Jang and Tiffany Dong will represent the Tigers, teeing off at 9:30 a.m. over the first three holes during a shotgun start.
The Tigers will be one of 16 teams in the field and one of three Ivies, along with Brown and Dartmouth. In addition to host Wofford and the Ivy trio, the others are The Citadel, Presbyterian, Gardner-Webb, Radford, Western Kentucky, South Carolina-Upstate, South Carolina State, Western Carolina, Appalachian State, Akron, Division II Ursuline (Ohio), and Division III DePauw (Ind.). Princeton is the highest-ranked team in the field according to the Mar. 17 Golfweek rankings, checking in at No. 92 nationally.
The teams will play one round each day Sunday and Monday on the par-72, 5,822-yard course. Tee times will be added when available.
The tournament is one of three on the docket for the team this spring, along with the UNCW Seahawk Classic in North Carolina the first weekend in April and the Ivy League Championship at Trump National the last weekend in April. Princeton returns two of the five players who competed for the Tigers in the Ivy meet last season, including two-time NCAA individual participant Shon, a junior, and sophomore Mary Funk.
