In Last Tune-Ups Before Ivy, Tennis Teams Wrap Spring Break Matches

Lindsay Graff, Dan Davies and the Tigers will complete their spring-break matches this week.

The Princeton tennis teams will combine for three matches over the rest of spring break before the Ivy League season begins next weekend against Penn, in Princeton for the men and in Philadelphia for the women.

Men's matches:
No. 43 Princeton (10-3) at No. 11 Pepperdine (11-4)*
Wednesday, Mar. 20, 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT in Malibu, Calif.
(*Pepperdine will face Loyola Marymount at 11 a.m. PT Wednesday)
ITA-Ranked Players: Princeton: No. 4 Matija Pecotic, No. 32 Zack McCourt/Pecotic; Pepperdine: No. 11 Sebastian Fanselow, No. 53 Francis Alcantara, No. 83 Finn Tearney, No. 107 Alex Sarkisian, No. 47 Alcantara/Tearney.
Series History: Pepperdine leads 12-0, last meeting in 2008.
On the Tigers: Princeton is on a seven-match winning streak, the program's longest since 2005, and the Tigers are as good as 10-3 through the first 13 matches for the first time since 2008. Princeton's last win streak of at least eight matches was in 1996.
On the Waves: Pepperdine's early match Wednesday against LMU will break a string of 14 straight matches against ITA-ranked opponents. All four of Pepperdine's losses this season have come to top-10 teams.

No. 43 Princeton at UC Irvine (3-14)
Saturday, Mar. 23, 4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT in Coto de Caza, Calif.
ITA-Ranked Players: Princeton: No. 4 Matija Pecotic, No. 32 Zack McCourt/Pecotic; UCI: None.
Series History: UCI leads 6-4, last meeting in 2012. Princeton has won the last two, 4-3 at Irvine last season and 7-0 at Irvine in 2009.
On the Anteaters: UCI's wins have come against Gonzaga, LMU and Fresno State. The Anteaters will aim to snap a two-match skid when they face Princeton.

Women's match:
No. 62 Princeton (8-3) at No. 75 Loyola Marymount (5-5)
Thursday, Mar. 21, 4:30 p.m. ET/1:30 p.m. PT in Los Angeles, Calif.
ITA-Ranked Players: Princeton: None; LMU: None.
Series History: LMU leads 4-3, last meeting in 2004. Princeton last won in 2000.
On the Tigers: Princeton has won three in a row and will try to make it four in a row in their lone California match of the spring trip.
On the Lions: LMU has won back-to-back matches and Princeton will be the Lions' first opponent from east of the Rockies. LMU will face another Ivy opponent, Dartmouth, Saturday.
