For the second time this season Princeton women's basketball
senior Niveen Rasheed has been named Ivy League Player of the Week, it was
announced Monday. Rasheed picks up her ninth career Player of the Week award
and 18th Ivy weekly award. She shares the weekly honor with Harvard's Christine
Clark.
The guard is coming off a 22-point performance versus Drexel
on Dec. 31, nearly eclipsing her season-high of 23 points. Rasheed went 8-for-9
from the stripe, establishing a new season-high for free throws made. She also
tallied eight rebounds, three steals and two assists in her team-leading 33
minutes of work.
Rasheed has scored in double figures 12 times this year,
including the last 11 consecutive games, and has four double-doubles. She is
averaging an Ivy-leading 16.8 points and a team-high 8.9 rebounds per game,
along with leading the team with 42 assists and 27 steals.
Rasheed and the Tigers (8-5) are set to conclude the
non-conference slate tomorrow, Tuesday, Jan. 8 at 7 p.m. versus Navy (7-7) at
Jadwin Gym.
