Winners of six in a row, the Princeton women's soccer team will head to Columbia for a 7 p.m. match Saturday.

Both teams are in the thick of the Ivy League race, which will pass its midpoint this weekend. Princeton and Penn are each 3-0 with nine points in Ivy play to lead the league, while Dartmouth and Columbia are next at 2-1 with six points.

Princeton leads Columbia 19-5-3 all-time since the series began in 1985, including 7-4-2 at Columbia's home field. The Lions, however, won the last match there by a 2-0 final in 2010. In the last meeting overall, Princeton won 4-1 on Oct. 15, 2011 at Myslik Field, getting two goals from Jen Hoy and one each from Melissa Downey and Lauren Lazo.

Princeton is 3-0 in the Ivy League for the second time since its last 7-0 Ivy League season in 2004, winning the first three contests in 2007 and 2010. Both times, however, getting to 4-0 was the hurdle, as the Tigers were stopped in 2007 at Harvard and in 2010 at Columbia.

Pregame notes:

• Princeton's six-match win streak is its longest since a seven-match streak in 2007.

• Princeton senior Jen Hoy had her third hat trick of the season Wednesday night against Lehigh, giving her an Ivy League-best 14 goals on the season. That total is twice as many as the runner-up in the league.

• Princeton remains the league's top-producing offense, leading the Ivy in points (98), goals (33), goals per game (2.75), assists (32), assists per game (2.67).

• Hoy's points-per-game lead in the Ivy is tremendous, standing at 2.42 to runner-up Emma Brush of Dartmouth at 1.42. Hoy also leads the Ivy in points (29),

• Jessica Haley leads the Ivy with six assists, getting her most recent one on Hoy's third goal against Lehigh.

• With 64-plus scoreless minutes in goal Wednesday night against Lehigh before giving way to sophomore Darcy Hargadon, Princeton senior Claire Pinciaro has dropped her goals-against average to 1.20 this season. During the six-game winning streak, her GAA has been 0.47.

• All 13 meetings between Columbia and Princeton on the northern end of Manhattan have been decided by two or fewer goals (including ties).

• Ten of Columbia's 14 goals this season have been scored by two players, juniors Beverly Leon and Coleen Rizzo, while four of their teammates have one goal apiece.

• Columbia sophomore Grace Redmon has been in goal for all but six of the Lions' 1,100 minutes this season and has a GAA of 0.99.
