Jen Hoy had her third hat trick of the season as the Princeton women's soccer team defeated Lehigh 6-1 Wednesday night on Myslik Field at Roberts Stadium.

The Tigers are now winners of six in a row, improving to 8-3-1 on the season while Lehigh fell to 2-11.

Princeton dominated possession, leading to 20 shots overall to Lehigh's three, including an 11-2 edge in the first half.

Princeton scored four times in the first 35 minutes, with Hoy getting the first two in the ninth and 21st minutes, Lazo scoring in the 28th minute and Cornacchio in the 33rd. Hoy added her third goal in the 52nd minute, putting Princeton ahead 5-0, while Lynessa McGee, who just Saturday had her first career goal, added another for a 6-0 lead.

Claire Pinciaro played the first 64-plus minutes and didn't need to make a save, while Lehigh spoiled the shutout bid with little more than seven minutes to go against Darcy Hargadon in the Mountain Hawks' only shot on goal.

The game was Princeton's last non-conference match at home this season, and the Tigers will head back into Ivy League play Saturday at Columbia for a 7 p.m. start.

Postgame notes:

• Princeton's six-match win streak is it longest since 2007, when it won seven in a row.

• Saturday, Princeton will look to start 4-0 in the Ivy League for the first time since 2004.

• Jen Hoy now has 14 goals this season, an Ivy League best and the most for any Tiger since Emily Behncke '06 in 2005 (14).

• The only person ahead of Hoy and Behncke on the Princeton single-season list is Esmeralda Negron '05, who holds the record with her 20 goals in 2004.

• Prior to the Lehigh game, Hoy ranked third in Division I in goals per game at 1.0. She now has 1.167 goals per game, and the national leader at the beginning of the week was at 1.154.

• Lauren Lazo finished with four points, getting her third goal of the season while helping on two other goals.

• Every available field player saw action for Princeton, which used 22 players in all against the Mountain Hawks.

• Diane Metcalf-Leggette had her first career point, assisting on Lazo's goal in the 28th minute.

• Princeton is now 17-0-1 against Lehigh all-time, with the series having started in Princeton's first varsity season of 1980.

• All three of Hoy's hat tricks this season have come against Patriot League schools, with the others coming Sept. 2 against Colgate and Sept. 19 at Lafayette.

• Princeton has won the last three meetings since the lone tie in the series, at Lehigh in 2009. The teams have played in seven straight seasons.

• Lehigh's goal was its first in 10 trips to the Princeton campus. The only previous Lehigh goal in the series came in 1994.
