Women's Cross Country 8th at Notre Dame; 3rd at Lehigh
SOUTH BEND, Ind. (9/28/12) - The Princeton women's cross country team finished eighth at the Notre Dame Invitational and third at the Paul Short Run on Friday, Sept. 28.
Senior Greta Feldman led the team with a 17th-place finish of 17:03. Sophomore Emily de La Bruyere was three seconds back to take 21st. Sophomore Jackie Nicholas ran 17:15, followed by senior Alexis Mikaelian at 17:33 and junior Marisa Cummings at 17:50
The Tigers, who are receiving votes in the national poll, competed against five nationally ranked squads. No. 2 Florida State won the race with a score of 29. The home team No. 20 Notre Dame was second, No. 19 New Mexico was third and No. 25 NC State was fourth. Princeton was eighth with 209 points.
At the Paul Short Run on the Lehigh campus, the Tigers second team finished in third place in the Brown race, finishing behind the A team's from Pittsburgh and Rhode Island. The Tigers were paced by freshman Lindsay Eysenbach who finished 17th with a time of 22:27. Sophomore Sophie Harkins was in the top 25 with a time of 22:45. Three freshmen rounded out the scorers. Maria Seykora, Amanda Chang and Summer Hanson ran 23:05, 23:10 and 23:17, respectively. Senior Abby Hewitt, sophomore Rachel Skokowski, junior Katie Skinner and freshman Kathryn Little also competed.
Next up for the Tigers is the Wisconsin Invitational on Friday, Oct. 12 and the Princeton Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 13. They will serve as the final tune-up for Princeton before Heps.
